Royal Copenhagen Pair of Cobalt vases. Decorated with dragon flies, bees and flowers in gold. Not easy to picture. The vases are marked with an extremely rare mark. I have only seen this mark on our vases and then on a cobolt blue vase at the Royal Copenhagen Museum. It is similar to the red export mark, but this one is blue. So we can date the vases to around the middle of the 1880's. The mark is hard to read, almost looks Russian, so maybe these were exported to Russia. This would fit since during that time the Royal Copenhagen artisans helped the Factory in St. Peterburg with the underglaze painting by giving them the secret formula and sent Liisberg to help them out.
Price for the pair: $4000.00
